From its blade to its handsome rosewood handle, every inch of this Frontier Bowie screams perfection!
The Cold Steel Frontier 1917 Bowie features a wide, keen hand-sharpened blade with a generous clip and huge fuller. Made from 1055 Carbon Steel, it is heat treated to a hard spring temper and beautifully blued to a lustrous finish. The Frontier Bowie's handle is a perfect accompaniment with its big "S" shaped guard offers excellent hand protection while the slim, flat profile stops it from twisting in your hand and keeps your edge alignment true. Its modified pistol grip also keeps the knife locked safely in your hand.
To further compliment this exceptional knife, Cold Steel have created a high quality leather sheath with a blued steel throat and chape. Its swiveling leather belt frog is wide enough to accommodate even a thick military belt and fully detachable to allow you to slide the knife into your belt for a more traditional carry. This versatile knife is suitable for historical re-enactment groups from the 1830’s onwards, Cowboy Action Shooters, civil war re-enactors.

“I have always been fascinated by the many wonderful solutions to the need for a sharp edge (and usually) a point Mankind has found !I probably actually bought, rather than 'acquired' my first Pocket Knife off a Card of a dozen in a Sea-side Giftshop just over 50 years ago.I have always wanted a 'Bowie' Knife that possessed the kind of 'Authority' and ability that made the type such an Icon.This Knife is for me is the epitome of 'Old School, Wood and Steel' Craftsmanship.While I will never put it to any kind of 'real world' challenge worthy of it, it is a combination of Skill and ability that at fist contact answered a longing that linked this Old man back to the joy and satisfaction my 12 year old self felt.For me that's what collecting has been all about.Actually owning something that put me in touch with so many Legends,while along the way also owning some very effective Tools.This has been a 'grail' Knife for me for many years and will probably pass from my Collection to my Grandsons as it arrived, but even so it was worth every penny for the joy It gave me and for reminding of the excitement that first purchase of a dream brought so many years ago!If you want a real Bowie Knife there can be few better at the price.H.H. as ever had the Knife with me less than 24 hours after ordering it. They always exceed expectations!”

“What can I say about this knife, other than it's a monster, excellent quality, finish to the blade is great, and for me, the handle is comfortable and large enough for my big hands. Very happy with this knife, and the sheath, again fantastic quality and looks amazing. Another happy customer.”

“A fantastic knife, really solid, sharp out of the box, the ricassa prevents anything like thorn branches hitting your hand, cleverly designed with the curves in it perfect for this purpose.The finish on the blade is lovely, a shame to use really and mark it, but it will be perfect for clearance of substantial branches that would take much longer and less satisfying than a chain saw. I have big powerful hands and so the handle is perfect for me, no frills less to go wrong.The usual great service from Hennies RIchard in particular.”

“I have a large collection of Bowie knifes, this is by far the best, the sharpest, just love it.I have two comments which I think would be an honest critique. The fuller grinding gose past the end of it for abnout an inch, the outher is for me the handle is a bit small, but I can live with it. Dont think about getting one, just GET it.”
