“I bought the black handled version 2 weeks ago from Heinnie and liked it so much I wanted this one as well. I was given the Leatherneck Tanto for Christmas and now it's my favourite blade style. This Recon Tanto with the Desert Tan handle is razor sharp straight out of the box. It's light, well balanced and comfortable to hold. I like these Recon Tantos so much I'm probably going to add the orange handled version to my collection asap. There's also VG10 San Mai version as well I think but sadly Cold Steel have stopped making the CPM 3V version. There is a green handled one in SK5 steel and hopefully Heinnie can get that in soon. I'm getting a display cabinet to show my Cold Steel Tantos although 1 or 2 will be for my wilderness camping trips to Scotland. This Dark Tan Recon Tanto is great knife at a very reasonable price and I highly recommend it.”

“Nice knife. Sk5 so kinda Chinese equivalent of D2. Coated so will help with rust. Good sheath. Most ppl making stuff outta D2 charge a fair whack for the stuff as its a well appreciated steel. This is Chinese tool steel, a longish & thick blade & £55 where other manufacturers are double that in D2 for a large knife. Bit of a bargain imo”

“Brilliant fixed blade nice moulded sheath with many carry options good value sharp and capable. Sheath retention a bit stiff, but it wont fall out.I love this.”

“I succumbed to temptation and added the orange handled variant to my growing collection of Cold Steel Recon Tantos. This orange one is definitely going to be part of my wilderness camping kit. The handle is an extremely vibrant shade of orange and therefore virtually impossible to lose. Like my other Recon Tantos, this was also razor sharp straight out of the box. Cold Steel really know how to put a razor sharp edge on a knife. I received it within 24 hours of ordering as well. The staff at Heinnie's have a great work ethic and really look after their customers. I'll definitely be buying more from Heinnie in the very near future.”
