CRKT Minimalist Spear Point - Fixed Blade Reviews

4.8 Rating 4 Reviews
Read Heinnie Haynes Reviews

The CRKT Minimalist Spear Point is another in the massively popular line designed for CRKT by Alan Folts. It features a 8Cr13MoVĀ stainless steel blade with a scratch-resistant stonewash finish. It is perhaps the best knife option for your survival kit and a great addition to have around the camp site. This full tang fixed blade has a resin-infused fiber handle with deep ergonomic choils for a rock solid grip. Includes a thermoplastic sheath with belt loop.

A word of caution. Firstly I love CRKT products, the CRKT minimalist Bowie is one of my favourite knives. The minimalist spear point is likewise a brilliant knife , it's my go to blade profile, BUT, and you knew there was a but coming, unlike the minimalist Bowie the sheath retention on the spear point is atrocious, I've elected to add a secondary retention to mine as I don't trust the knife not to simply pop out if knocked or snagged. Something to bear in mind when purchasing.

Nice knife, great grip, belt buckle loop is generic for all CRKT knives and doesn't attach to this sheath well.

A well made and designed little knife, ideal for opening packaging or producing feathering for a camp fire, so small and light that you forget that you have it on you, yet provides a good grip.Very sharp out of the box, watch your fingers for goodness sake, my friend who is a GP had someone attend his surgery with a cut that became infected, couldn't be bothered to see a Dr and lost the finger due to neglect, I know from my own experience with incompetent Drs at consultant level that sepsis is not something to ignore.
