The Buck 110 Folding Hunter - A traditional favourite!
Buck's Folding Hunter was created in 1963 when Al Buck decided that a revolutionary lockblade knife was needed by outdoorsmen who wanted a sturdy knife but did not want to carry a long fixed-blade knife. He was right and the result proved to be the key to the company's future. The challenge was to combine the strengths of other folding knives with locking mechanisms into a good-looking, reliable product. It wasn't easy, but after a series of refinements, the Model 110 was unveiled. Within six months, this innovation was the hottest knife in the industry.
The Folding Hunter, after over 50 years, is still one of America's best-selling knives and still made in the USA.

I'd seen this on Heinnie Haynes and also saw some write-ups, reviews and UTube clips regarding this knife.I don't think I saw a negative opinion about it.Referred to as an important piece of history in the knife fraternity. So I ordered one.It hasn't disappointed at all. It's a beautiful piece. It genuinely is a stunning knife with the brass inlays and the ebony handle. The blade is razor sharp.I know it's a tough bit of kit and will be hard-wearing but it's also a piece of art and craftsmanship. The leather sheath is another piece of great craft and art. Both look and feel awesome.I'm chuffed with this order. I'm so pleased I got it.People are right. It is a piece of history and should be part of a collection or part of your day to day kit. Both really. It's a must have.I haven't put it down.Heinnie Haynes are as they always are. Great customer service and care with a really fast delivery time schedule.

My initial impressions were disappointing. The knife was dirty and the action gritty. It was obviously solid and very robust though. The leather pouch is very nice and well made.I cleaned it and used it and it grew on me. The action smoothed out. The lockup is very secure. It fits nicely in the hand and feels like it will last forever. It is perhaps a bit overpriced though.Glad I bought it.

After a very swift replacement of a knife with a manufacturer's finishing issue, I received my rock-solid Buck 110 with perfect alignment and no wiggle. All though this knife is of a very traditional pattern, Buck originated this type of single bladed folding hunter. It's heavy! The weighty brass bolsters and liner look like they can take thorough hard use and only improve with age. Withe blade closed its bottom heavy and tries to fall out of your hand but opened up the knife sits, beautifully balanced and ready.I'm not an expert on steel but the slim clip point blade is wickedly sharp and reputedly keeps a keen edge.I was in two minds about buying such a traditional, dare I say unfashionable knife but it's far better quality than the Case, Rough Ryder Reserve, Cudeman and Cold Steel knives I use.You can see why Buck offer a lifetime guarantee.

I've had my eye on this knife for years (already own the Buck 119) and always wanted to get it - so this Christmas I did!The knife is very solid and fits very nicely in a large hand. The action feels smooth and snaps into place when extended. The blade is extremely sharp, and like my other Buck knife, will undoubtedly hold its edge for a long time. The sheath also feels like very good quality leather & holds the knife very securely with a strong popper lid.Feels like something you'd want to pass down to your kids in the future.

I have bought many interesting folders from HH over the years.Mostly smaller pocket knives. Great for peeling apples, cutting sandwiches and a bit of whittling. For more serious work around the paddocks and barns I have used fixed blades. This is probably going to change. What a knife. Useful length and weight blade. Big enough to fit comfortably and securely in my hand. Superb build quality, smooth operation and genuinely 'sharp out of the box'. Great quality robust leather sheath. More comfortable and more practical than a full length fixed blade setup while working. Very pleased. Almost certain to become my 'go to' everyday work knife. Usual exemplary 5* fast efficient service from HH.
