Benchmade 560 Freek Black Folding Blade Reviews

4.8 Rating 4 Reviews
Read Heinnie Haynes Reviews

Form and function in the same package. The Benchmade 560 Freek brings together two incredibly durable materials, G10 and CPM-M4 steel.
The grey and black layered G10 is milled to provide excellent grip and style, while the red G10 base layer and anodized aluminium barrel spacers bring an additional pop of colour to the handles. The high-strength CPM-M4 blade is designed for hard use, pushing the limits of what the already tough Freek was meant to do.
This knife is a true super Freek.

Bought this as a replacement for my venerable Benchmade Mel Pardue in , yes, ATS 34, now feeling its age.Out of the box the Freek was shaving sharp, well centered and the pivot was adjusted perfectly to allow the blade to drop shut easily. No blade play and no lock stick. In use it is comfortable in the hand, although the scales are slightly less contoured than I had imagined. Some may regard this as a large knife but it suits my purposes and I find it to be quite agile. I will swap the pocket clip for a deep carry not for concealment but to reduce the risks of snagging on anything as not all my pockets are the same pattern. As usual a seamless purchasing experience and prompt delivery from Heinnie.

Check out the DBK channel reviews of this knife on YouTube. Had mine a few days and have replicated their battoning tests and added some deer gralloching and sternum splitting to the mix. Superb knife. Perfectly comfortable grip. More depth and shape than anything else in my 100+ knife collection for a folder. It is an instant "first choice" for my hunting/bushcraft uses. If you buy this knife you will not regret it. The M4 blade is tough and takes a long lasting edge. I profiled mine at 17 degrees each side on a Tormek fine diamond wheel and got a 50g BESS test result and after 3 hours of testing it still scored 100g! Really very impressed with this knife!

Very nice utility knife, don't take it on the street in the UK but on private property or camping it won't be a problem. Bench made knives are a luxury item and expensive so don't lose them.

This is a cool looking knife that feels good in the hand. It's clearly well made and nice to use. There is no wiggle in the blade, and it's well centred when closed. A great knife if you're left-handed.
