BeaverCraft Bushcraft Black Oak Fixed Blade Reviews

4.8 Rating 8 Reviews
Read Heinnie Haynes Reviews

The BeaverCraft Bushcraft Knife has a stainless blade which has an unbelievably sharp, Scandi ground edge. Measuring 95 on the BESS sharpness scale it is the equivalent of a standard double edge razor! For bushcrafting and outdoor use it a seriously handy knife for not a great deal of cash. Use it as a carving knife, cooking knife or anything else you might be up to in the woods. It is a good size with a large curved handle which fits very comfortably in the hand.
The handle is made from Black Oak which is a hard resillient material perfectly suited to outdoor use. It is supplied with a leather sheath and lanyard.

Very good, but not stainless ,treat it like high carbon steel. Functions better for me than a straight design. And appears to hold an edge as sharp and durable as an Enzo in O1 TS.

Very impressed by the quality of the product, well worth the money. Just one point to make, these are carbon steel knives, not stainless, I believe it's 65G steel used. The Beavercraft website confirms it's carbon steel, so remember to clean and oil.

bought it, like it, would happily do it again. good handle, came sharp-ish and strops up fairly easily, steel holds an edge fairly well, blade is substantial enough to batton without worries. one wee quibble: the sheath is quite decently made but the leather is a bit thin. ran the blade through the side of the sheath when i wasn't paying close attention. not bothered though, it'll do until i get around to doing a sheath of my own which i like to do anyway. no complaints from me.

Ordered as a replacement to my Mora HD companion after I thought I lost it (later found). This is a very good low end blade, that can perform most tasks from battening, to food prep and carving. Also comes with a decent sheath, though I think the ring on the dangler is a little too thin, so I'll be using the belt hoop instead! All in all, I think Mora and Hultafor have a lot to be worried about!
