The Arkansas Ceramic Rod is the perfect tool to hone your blade. Use it after a sharpening steel to finesse the edge on your blade.
These rods can be used on their own or as replacements for part of your existing sharpening system.
They come in two sizes. The larger one is 21.6 cm long and the smaller is 11.5cm long. Both have a diameter of approximately 10mm.

“My original was given me 18 years ago by a knife seller in the USA as part of a deal on a Leatherman.I broke it accidentally and have two useable parts but it was time to replace with new, I had forgotten how good a fresh new rod performs, Better than a steel, just takes a couple of rasps along your dull egde and your back in to action.These really deliver and are so affordable.”

“I bought these rods because I have some Kukri - which have recurved blades - and I was told these would work. They are very good. They are a reasonably moderate grit, not rough enough to remodel an edge and not quite fine enough for stropping. But they are great for sharpening a dull edge before using a strop and honing compound for the final polish. They are also extremely good value. I have one size for EDC and the larger one for home working and for my largest blades.”
