Brilliant poles. I am running my first ultra this year so this is the first time I have run with poles. They are super light, easy to carry and unfold quickly.

I took these out for the whole day on a very stormy, waterlogged Dartmoor. I believe that they really do prolong your energy on long runs. On a descent with small roots forming loops out of the ground to trip you up, I felt one of my poles get stuck momentarily. I was relying on them heavily. I heard a big snap and my heart filled with dread as I turned to inspect the snapped pole. To my surprise the pole was totally intact, the root must have made the snapping noise. I’m so late to the game with poles and now think how different last year could have been for me if I had purchased these sooner.
