“Heritage Gainsborough design lever latch door handle with a polished brass finish was exactly the product I wanted and the item delivered item is of excellent quality. The only downside was that the screw holes were not in an identical position to the one I was replacing, so it was necessary to fill the old ones before re-drilling the new positions. This is the usual problem with most replacements. The stainless steel pilot screw provided is a good idea for forming the thread in advance of placing the brass screws (which can break if too much stress is applied during thread formation), however the slot-head construction of this stripped because I had only a 3mm drill available which meant the holes were very tight (3.5mm is probably better). A similar screw with a crosshead from my own stock) worked much better.”
