“The Oticon TV 3.0 is an excellent device for anyone who relies on hearing aids when viewing and listening to TV. It connects directly to the aids via Bluetooth so the TV sound is fed directly to the ear. This greatly improves the clarity of the received sound which is perfectly in sync with that of the TV. I feed the TV audio to a surround sound system, which means you get the immersive experience but can also hear the dialogue. Bluetooth connections can be notoriously temperamental but the adaptor connected to my hearing aids at the first attempt. However I found it kept disconnecting when I settled down to watch something. This was caused by interference from nearby devices: in my case an iPad and an AV receiver. Once Bluetooth was switched off on these devices the connection was reliable. The hearing aid's receiver is obviously tiny and so vulnerable to being swamped by competing signals. I am delighted with my purchase which means that I can once again watch TV without subtitles, except when actors insist on speaking in inaudible whispers or are drowned out by the soundtrack!”
