“I’m no carpenter or wood expert, but I am a diy’er and recently bought a mini lathe to do some wood turning as a hobby. I tried some oak dowel from a leading diy store and it caught and tore quite easily and the final result was poor, in my opinion. This maple dowel has given far better results with both traditional tools and carbide tools. Particularly with the carbide tools, being easier to use, leaving the surface with little sanding needed. Very pleased and will certainly be purchasing more.”
