“The Veritas MkII Honing Guide is well made. I have had no issues sharpening with it. I was impressed by its weight. I was expecting it to be much lighter but this is a solid piece of equipment made from quality materials and is nicely finished.”
“It's not bad enough to return but it doesn't hold plane irons or chisels at a right angle. There's a one millimetre gap across the honed edge on a 2 inch iron (even worse on a 2 1/2 inch iron) - and that's using the removable guide as instructed. I have to compensate for this when setting it up. I purchased the separate small item guide (not from this site) and it does the same with a 9mm chisel. I've noticed on other sites that this is not just me.”
