“I got this as part of a free kit supplied through MyProtein and was excited to try it but I can’t recommend. It’s incredibly difficult to lather into a paste as per the instructions and it has a sort of waxy texture so is really difficult to get off your skin as it doesn’t rinse off with water, which left my face red from rubbing and my bathroom covered while I tried to wash it off my hands. I am a fan of charcoal skincare products but didn’t notice any difference to my skin with this, I ended up using my usual mask after instead. If the quality of the mask was better, I like the idea of a package free mask, especially one this small which is ideal for travel, but the mess it made is not worth removing the convenience of packaging.”

“I can’t deny that my skin feels incredible after using this product however, it was very messy & difficult to apply. As it started to break down, it went clumpy & difficult to apply evenly on my face. Taking the mask off was just as problematic even when using hot water. It didn’t rinse off easily & smeared, so took a long time to fully remove. I wouldn’t say using this product was enjoyable, it was stressful. But once I’d finally removed it, my skin felt extremely soft, it cleared my pores and was very satisfied with the texture of my skin. I would recommend, but only if you’re prepared for a very messy facial.”

“I so wanted to love this but the formula just doesn't work for me. When I rub the bar between my hands under warm/hot water it doesn't make much of a paste, rather just flakes away. Spot applying with the wet bar is a bit easier if it doesn't break (understandable), but I also find the product tough to wash off? I really need to scrub my skin with a cloth and hot water as opposed to other face masks I've used. I would definitely repurchase if the formula is improved at some point bc I love the idea! Just didn't work for me”

“This is unfortunately not easy to use - takes a while to try to break the bar down and even then it's lumpy and difficult to spread on your face - more like smearing. Extremely messy to remove from self and sink. Wouldn't recommend”
