“The first time I used this product, I was deeply impressed. I used the sunscreen with SPF 30, and it wasn’t greasy at all. When applied to the face, it felt just like a moisturizing cream—very nourishing and easy to spread. It also protects the skin from UV damage. The packaging is very delicate and compact, clearly the result of thoughtful design. It truly lives up to the description of being high quality at a reasonable price. Some of the smaller-sized products are also perfect for travel. I didn’t hesitate to place a second order with more product varieties. Although I haven’t received them yet, I’m really looking forward to being pleasantly surprised. I’ll leave another review once they arrive. By the way, the founder’s story also really touched me. “Really disappointed in this sunscreen and the way it’s presented as cruelty free and free from chemical nasties, which a little misleading in my opinion when it includes ingredients like Octocrylene which is highly damaging to marine life — which even more important to me spending a lot of time on the water. Generally impressed with some of the other Grüum products I’ve tried, but not this one. There are other good, even big brand, sunscreens that marine safe. I really hope Grüum change this in future, until then it’s going in the bin.”

If you would like to understand more about our ingredients and why we use them then please feel free to get in touch at support@gruum.com and we will do our best to answer any questions. In the meantime some information about Octocrylene as you have mentioned it: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) evaluated the safety of octocrylene for use in sunscreen products and found that concentrations of up to 10% are safe. The European Scientific Committee on Consumer. Safety (SCCS) also stated that octocrylene is safe in products containing concentrations of no more than 10%. We adhere to the European/UK guidelines as that is where we register our products. “I’ve been using this sunscreen daily for the past few weeks, and I’m genuinely impressed. The texture is light, almost like a moisturizer, and it blends effortlessly into the skin without leaving a white cast — which is a huge plus for me. It’s non-greasy, so it works perfectly under makeup and doesn’t clog my pores or cause breakouts.”

“Love it. Lightweight and quickly absorbed. Doesn't feel greasy and offers great protection. I've used it on its own and under my foundation. No issues applying foundation over the top.”

“I'd have given it a higher score because the cream is nice and does not irritate my eyes; but I found it impossible to squeeze the cream from the rigid bottle without banging it several times on a hard surface and then unscrewing the squeezy lid. This product is not suitable for anyone with shoulder problems.”
