“As I have come allegies I looked up the 21 (twenty one!) ingedients in this product and found that 6 are synthetic; 1 is to prevent dandruff and fungal infections in scalp; 1 ingedient could have negative impact on envirionment due to manufacturing process/es; 1 can cause skin/eye irritation; 2 are harmful to the environment; 1 harmful to marine life. And I struggle with ingredients have 'acid' and 'chlorine' listed after ingredient. I thought the whole idea of grüum was to use naturally occuring ingredients, or maybe I am missing a point somewhere as synthetic to me does not mean the same as natural? I appreciate that some of the items I have listed that in each bottle are probably incredibly small, but still and issue for me.”

Hello there, Thanks so much for your your review and for your thorough research. We understand your concerns about some of the ingredients you found. Our goal at gruum is to use a blend of naturally derived and safe synthetic ingredients. Where possible, we try to include as many naturally derived ingredients as possible to cut out those unnecessary chemical nasties. We use a small number of synthetics to ensure our products are stable, safe, and effective.We adhere to the European/UK guidelines as that is where we register our products. We take their points on board and will look to see if there is something we can do in the future to reduce/remove it. You've pointed out some ingredients that may sound harsh, but in our formulations, they are used in very small, safe amounts. For example, 'citric acid' comes from citrus fruits, and certain chlorine compounds are used as safe preservatives, very different from household bleach. We are also committed to minimizing our environmental impact by using biodegradable ingredients whenever possible. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us be more transparent about our formulations. “Nice texture - thick enough to not drip and moisturise properly, but thin enough to soak in fast and not leave a residue on the skin. I like the small bottle as it fits into small bag to carry with you.”
