“This product made by my seborrheic dermatitis worse. I noticed increased flakes and itchiness the day after I used it. While I was hopeful that this wouldn't be the case because the gruum shampoo bar works to prevent flaking, I am ultimately not surprised because this product uses cocoa butter. Cocao butter is composed of fatty acids with carbons chain lengths of 16 and 18 and it is well known that the fungal organisms associated with seb derm (and dandruff also, I believe) feed on fatty acids with a carbon chain of 11 to 25. Given that this is supposed to be an anti-dandruff condition, it misses the market in a crucial aspect of the marketed product profile because it causes the thing it is supposed to prevent. I have given this product two stars because it did make my hair very soft. The gruum anti-dandruff shampoo bar is very drying, so I can at least make sure my purchase did not go to waste by conditioning my hair before washing with the gruum anti-dandruff soap bar. I find that this still leaves my hair less dry than if I use the shampoo bar alone, and it also means I can wash out all the conditioning product from my scalp to prevent it from exacerbating my seb derm. I don't think I will buy this product again.”

We use Cocoa butter as it is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins that heal and hydrate, cocoa butter locks in moisture and soothes irritation without weighing down your hair. “It's good however it doesn't leave your hair quite as soft as the normal bottled conditioners. Will keep using though as my hair is still in good condition with it.”
