The Coat King is a durable product made from hardened stainless steel and finished with a comfortable and sturdy wooden handle. Uses and breeds ideal for the 8-blade stripper: #8 Blade Stripper Ideal for prep work and coarser coats such as: Beagle: Beagles have a short, dense, double coat that benefits from regular brushing to manage shedding. Bichon Frise: Bichons possess a curly, dense coat requiring regular brushing to prevent matting. Border Collie: Border Collies have a thick double coat that benefits from regular brushing to manage shedding. Border Terrier: Border Terriers have a wiry, dense coat that may require hand-stripping to maintain its texture. Cockapoo: Cockapoos have a curly or wavy coat that benefits from regular brushing to prevent matting. Cocker Spaniel: Cocker Spaniels have a medium-length, wavy coat that requires regular brushing to prevent tangles. Schnauzer: Schnauzers possess a wiry, dense coat that may require hand-stripping to maintain its texture. Top tips for using Coat King products: Coarse styles: Best for combing out the undercoat. Fine styles: Ideal for finishing and perfecting the coat. The softer the coat, the finer the gap: Finer gaps are best for softer coats and longer coats. For short-coated dogs: Use the closest, finest gap. For long & wire coats: Start with a coarse Coat King and follow up with a fine one. The finer the gap between the blades, the more blades are included. Looking for similar products? Browse our range of dematting and stripping tools. Not what I thought I was getting, which was a genuine Coat King. This product is wider with bigger spaces between the blades than my Mars Coat King which is perfect for the coats on my Border Terriers, this is OK but not what I need. That said, it's very reasonably priced and should work on dogs with a hard thick coat. It partially works on my dogs as a debulking tool.

Best comb ever for my double coated terrier. Got all the dead hair from her undercoat out. Bought after a recommendation from a dog groomer.
