“I ordered these online during a discounted sale going mostly on looks as my previous grisport boots are lovely yo wear . I received them promptly in time for my excursion which was a relief .
As for the shoes themselves I am happy with them generally , however I didnt notice the grips particularly from the web site pictures . The stud- like grips lift the rest of the shoe off the ground , they feel quite flexible and springy when walking on solid grpund - say pavements , and although I cant say that this is uncomfortable , it doesnt feel ' right' whilst just walking casually round town .
The stud like grips may be great for walking on grass probably as intended , but I was expecting less of a football boot experience around town , as they look more of a sporty / trainer like walking shoe , not your out and out brown leather , serious mud plugging country walkers .
Looking back , I think I should have gone for the 'Dartmoor ' shoes instead now , but I will have to see if I get used to tbem .
Its not a big problem , just an observation and difference noticed from my older shoe type .”
“Great purchase. Bought the java trekking shoe and was so pleased with the comfort and quality that i subsequently bought the Argon walking shoe. Now that the wet weather is back I have been using these shoes a lot walking my dog and found them also to be super comfortable and completely waterproof. Only one place I shall be looking for walking shoes in future and that's Grisport.”
“I've been a long-time buyer and fan of Merrell walking shoes, the recent quality of that said brand has dropped recently, stitching coming apart on the toes and most definitely NOT being waterproof. I did my research into various walking shoes and Grisport got lots of positive revies and I liked the style of The Argon shoe. Fast dispatch from Grisport, tried the shoe on and it just felt right instantly, in the last ten days we have walked extensively in Portugal over many conditions and I have to say this shoe has been great, no regrets in buying at all. “These walking shoes were a bit of a disappointment after my experience with Grisport walking boots. They definitely were not comfortable out of the box. They have taken quite a bit of breaking in. The insole is far to firm for me, totally unforgiving, leading to fatigue and discomfort after about 4/5 miles. I will replace them with something better.”
