“Actual foot section is comfortable, but have an issue with some rubbing toward to the top of the eyelets, so I have to be careful not to tie them to tight, or miss an eyelet fastening to help”
“Very comfortable, wide fit. Very unfcomfirtable, hard joint on tongue has meant they rub on both sides of each ankle. Had to cut out pea sized lump on bith boots.”
“Love them! Great customer service with returning the original pair I ordered for a size up. They now fit perfectly and feel sturdy and supportive but comfortable so I don't need to break them in.”
“These boots are fantastic. Very well made and really comfortable right out of the box. I purchased them for my upcoming trip to the Isle of Mull and am sure they will be up to the task of hiking up Ben More.”
“Aztec Crazy Horse Walking Boots – 750km Tested Review
I bought my Aztec Crazy Horse Walking Boots in mid-February 2025. Out of the box, they were quite stiff and a little uncomfortable, but after some time and miles, they gradually softened up. Now, they’re the most comfortable leather boots I’ve ever owned.
They are a bit heavier than the equivalent fabric walking boots, but they feel incredibly hard-wearing—built to last. For comparison, I’ve owned other, lighter fabric boots that were just as comfortable, like my Scarpa Mistral GTXs, which managed an impressive 1500km before finally coming apart. Based on my experience so far, I have a feeling the Aztecs are going to surpass that.
Since purchasing them, I’ve walked over 750km, and they still look pretty good. I’ll probably treat the leather soon to help extend their life even further. I walk just over 2000km a year and I'm hoping these last into 2026.
Overall, I’m really pleased—these boots are tough, comfortable, and seem likely to go the distance. I’d give them a solid 9 out of 10.”
