Why did you choose Green People Toothpaste?
“I bought this toothpaste along with minty cool as I really don't like all the unnecessary chemicals in regular toothpaste. Both of these provide the same freshening effect and I'm happy swallowing any without worrying.
The taste does require getting used to if you have been using fluoride toothpaste for along time, but the transition doesn't take long.”

Why did you choose Green People Toothpaste?
“Wonderful product. My dentist was amazed when I told him that I was using toothpaste which doesn't contain fluoride, and had been for years without telling him, as my teeth are so good.
Also brilliant service from The Green People.”

“I found this product not displeasing but just quite weak on the "minty cool" side.
Seems a million miles away from the usual mass production toothpastes I have used in the past in terms of texture and flow.
I'll stick for now and see how it goes over the longer term.”
Thank you for your feedback. Our toothpastes are not designed to mimic your standard high street toothpastes as they are natural and do not contain foaming agents.
We don’t use any surfactant in our toothpastes. Surfactants such as SLS are used to produce foam which gives users the illusion that the toothpaste is cleaning the teeth. In fact, foam is unnecessary in a toothpaste and can actually contribute to gum disease as it may damage the protective mucous coating that covers healthy gum tissue.
Our toothpastes work by using a gentle abrasive (dental-grade chalk) together with a fully hydrated humectant (Aloe vera juice and Glycerin) and an ingredient that stimulates saliva production (Betaine). They also contain Olive Leaf extract which has antibacterial activity and essential oils which also help to control bacterial growth as well as flavouring the toothpastes. They are thickened with Xanthan gum which gives the toothpastes a thixotropic property – allowing it to be solid at rest, but more fluid under sheer stress so that it can be squeezed out of the tube.
The toothpastes are thickened with Xanthan gum – this creates a thixotropic gel that becomes thinner when pressure is applied, but which quickly firms up again once pressure is released. This allows it to be easily squeezed out of the tube, and it should quickly regain its thickness once it is on the brush.
