I ordered ladybird larvae to tackle a particularly intense aphid infestation that was absolutely decimating pretty much everything in my garden, which is newly established and therefore hadn't yet managed to naturally attract predators to deal with the aphids. The larvae were dispatched promptly and arrived well packed, so all were alive on arrival. Following the clear and concise instructions provided on how to release them, the larvae were transferred to the cotton bag provided and placed in one of the bushes. And they've done their work! One month later and the aphid population in the garden has shown a very significant decline. The much reduced surviving population is still being kept in check by the ladybird larvae I regularly spot mooching around among the plants, which are all now looking far healthier. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to control aphids without resorting to chemicals.

I wasn't sure whether this ladybird larvae would really work in practice as our apple tree was literally covered in fly, but I am delighted to say it worked an absolute treat! We placed the larvae bag at the junction of the main branches, and put the ladybirds higher up, in many different places. Two weeks later the sticky residue was completely gone, and another two weeks later there in no sign of it returning... mission accomplished, with no need to use harmful chemicals!

I ordered a bag of ladybird larvae to help my poor little crabapple tree which was suffering under a huge infestation of greenfly. All the new leaves were withering. I didn't want to use poison and I didn't want to harm the ants who were farming them, just to redirect them and to save the tree I only planted the previous year. Well, when I saw how tiny they were I was a bit skeptical because I couldn't believe they could eat more than one greenfly eat and there were billions but wow!! They did the job! It was really incredible. I actually saw one of the larvae after a bit of time had passed and it was so much bigger after all its feasting. The leaves look recovered and the greenfly are almost gone. I think the tree can cope with the odd few, just not the heavy infestation there was previously. They really did an excellent job. I also followed the advice about putting vaseline on the tree trunk (and I squirted a tiny bit of washing up liquid on the vaseline as well as the ants were still walking into it at first) to stop the ants from climbing up the tree to farm the aphids/greenfly and protecting them from the ladybird larvae. I told the ants they are welcome elsewhere in the garden, but they aren't allowed in the tree because their farming methods are causing damage. They have agreed to keep to other areas and we are all happy now.
