I am yet to use the split roller but have no complaints about the product so far. I would have given you 5 stars had it not been for the Post Office messing me around. In the evening of the day I placed my order, the Post Office gave me a delivery window early am, so I made plans accordingly. The following morning I had a revised delivery time later in the day. I get it that things do change, but it might be worth your while to suggest to them that they wait for items to get further on through the delivery chain before issuing delivery times. Kind regards.

Thanks for your feedback—we really appreciate you taking the time to share it. Just to clarify, this section is intended for reviews of the product itself (in this case, the Dakine Split Roller 110L), rather than the delivery or service experience. We’re glad to hear you’re happy with the bag so far, though, and we hope it performs just as well once you’ve had a chance to use it. If you’d like to share feedback about the delivery experience, we’d recommend contacting our customer service team directly. Gravity Protection Ltd

Don’t buy! This bag was a complete fail! It broke in a number of places on its first use. I have 4 other Dakine holdalls, all 10 - 20 years old, been on multiple trips and still going strong, so buying an additional one made sense. However , when it arrived I could immediately see the inferior quality in the type of fabric and the construction of the new one. This uses a new type of unusual construction where the fabric is sewn onto the hard plastic rim of the base. On its first trip, the bag was lifted by handles or the straps and the stitching simply pulled apart and unravelled with the base completely separating from the top half . My bag appeared on the baggage carousel its contents spilling out and straps ripping off, I have never seen a bag (especially of this price >£200) fall apart like this. It was definitely not caused by baggage handlers - when the bag is picked up you can see the pressure points of straps and handles and the fabric tearing in addition to the stitching unraveling. I don’t think this can be a one off given its construction and I now will have to replace it with a different brand, as I assume Dakine are just not the reliable quality they used to be.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We're very sorry to hear about your experience — especially given your long history with Dakine bags. Across the hundreds of Dakine travel bags we’ve sold, this type of failure is extremely unusual and certainly not representative of the normal performance customers experience. Dakine continues to be widely used for travel and outdoor gear precisely because of its durability, and failures on first use are exceptionally rare. You are correct that Dakine bags from 10–20 years ago often used very heavy-duty materials such as thick Cordura or ballistic nylon. These fabrics were extremely robust but also made bags significantly heavier. Modern Dakine luggage uses high-denier technical polyester and nylon fabrics combined with molded base structures. This approach is widely used across the travel industry today as it reduces overall weight while still providing strength, structure, and water resistance. However, the type of failure you describe — where stitching separates from the base on first use — would not be expected under normal travel conditions and would be considered highly unusual. The construction used on current Dakine luggage has been extensively tested and, based on the large number of units sold, does not show a high rate of failure. We completely understand how disappointing this must have been, particularly when you have had such positive experiences with Dakine products in the past. Situations like this are typically handled under warranty, and we we note that you were imediately refunded the cost of the bag when it was brought to our attention.
