“I bought a Gerber Bear Grylls Compact back in 2012 when I started working in telecoms. It lived in my pocket and was used almost daily for nearly 15 years before the pliers finally gave way.
I bought the Gerber Vise expecting a similar replacement, but the first one broke on its very first use. Then the replacement arrived with a poor finish, including what looks like metal that has simply been ground away.
It feels cheap and I honestly wouldn’t trust it with the same everyday use my old Gerber handled for years.
Sadly, my battered 15-year-old Gerber still feels better made than the brand-new replacement.”
