“I bought this as a replacement for inkjet as a budget option as it can perform all functions and more and can be maintained. I purposely chose this as it has been around for a while so the bugs in firmware would've been ironed out. Been having it for half a year already and the hardware itself is totally fine. The first thing you should do with any hardware when you get it is to update the firmware. For someone who doesnt do lots of printing this is a lot better than an inkjet despite the higher initial costs. Quick summary: - Doesnt do duplex scanning - Software not as good as (it doesnt have an embedded CUPS or web based scanner like does) so you cant use it with stock OS drivers - is not heavy duty (im a light user so this doesnt matter to me) - very heavy and bulky for its intended customers + extra software features is helpful so you can print and scan without needing a PC or host or from many platforms + Despite the other reviews i tested printing a high resolution photo and it turned out good, not as good as inkjet but still pretty good + Very sensitive scanner so if you dont keep it clean is easy to end up with issues + Drivers arent bloated and many OSes have compatible drivers pre included (even the dcp9015 drivers will work) + being around for a while, all the main functionality works including duplex printing + Very good printing quality My reason for choosing this was mainly because i dont print regularly. You can maintain this printer yourself and there are guides to refill the cartridges this printer uses which is a very big cost saving. It also has ethernet which is a much better option than wifi although the wifi is packed with modes. There was a guide you could download from bother on maintaining this printer but the file is no longer there. I have had no paper jams or duplex printing issues so far however only once did a paper side get crumpled out of hundreds of pages.”

“Worked very well (DCP-135C). Arrived earlier than expected. Only shame is that 2 of the black inks leaked in the plastic packaging. Overall; Good.”
