“I bought this reconditioned item as the cost compared to the unit was massively cheaper. I read the reviews and had mixed feelings about whether this would work or not, but for the potential lifetime savings I thought it was worth giving it a go. Unfortunately when I installed the cartridge in the printer it didn't work. However, I had already read that this happens quite often and that there is a workaround. Follow the instructions given on the comments on other posts to find the workaround. It can be a bit of a pain when the print job fails, but applying the steps given does work. So now I have a working printer again and the fiddliness of the workaround is worth the savings made against the one.”
