“Bought this after been driven mad by a series of flakey expensive inkjets which all conked out (and blasted blue ink all over the place in one instance) after less than 50 pages printed. Have to say Viva la difference. This boots quickly, it's easy to use, easy to install on Win & Mac (not tried Linux) and has an amazing feature where when you tell it to print something. It actually prints something. The scanner and copier both work well, much of a muchness functionallity. Printing wise, it's a Lazerprinter so documents are perfectly crisp. Printing picutres was also a nice surprise. It's naturally not as good as an ink jet (assuming you can coax one into working for 5 minutes) but printing full page photos with this is perfectly serviceable. Things to be aware of if considering this: It is BIG. In an office it would fit right in, but if like me you need a reliable home printer be sure you have the space for it. It exhausts hot air on the rear bottom right hand side, and has a small air inlet on the middle left, so make sure there is clearence for these. The touch screen likes a light touch. I had one of my friends having a go at it because every time he jabbed his finger on the screen it didnt respond. Treat it gently and it works fine. So the missing star. WiFi. Sadly this printer dosnt (as far as I can tell) support 5Ghz networks, and I had no luck connecting it to two 2.4Ghz N networks either. It sees WiFi 2.4Ghz networks but wont connect to any I've tried it on. Saving grace is that it has an ethernet port which works a treat. Both Windows and Mac recognised it on the network without a fuss. I don't currently have any HAL-90--Linux machines on my network so can't say for them. As with all WiFi related issues it could well be the network config rather than the printer, but If you're reliant on the Wi-Fi connectivity I'd do some extra research to make sure this will play ball with your set up.”
