Our family have been farming at Gazegill for about 500 years and as current custodians our responsibility to continue farming in a sustainable and nature led way is very important. We have always believed that nature is never wrong and farming organically produces healthier food from happier animals within a sound ecological system. Happy, healthy animals make better food with a traditional flavour. The rare and traditional breeds that we keep are better suited to the organic system and are slowly grown, this ensures a longevity of life based around a natural approach to farming. We love them to bits, they are our extended family.

“Organic Rolled Brisket - this was quite honestly the worst beef I have ever had. I can't say the worst I've ever eaten because we didn't eat it, it was fit for mothing but the bin. It was all fat and gristle and it was actually rubbery and beyond 'chewy' in the mouth when I tasted it, but the flavour was totally lacking. And no, I am not suffering from loss of taste and smell. I have previously bought brisket from Gazegills and cooked it in the same way as this, i.e. in my slow cooker, and it has been tender and tasty. I don't know what's going on at the farm, but I won't be buying anymore meat from Gazegills.”

“Love this! If you slow cook it for a few hours, after having seasoned it well, it becomes the most succulent beef the like of which you would expect in a top notch restaurant.”

“Lovely brisket. I think this is my favourite beef joint. I slow cooked it and it was delicious and there was loads of it as it hardly shrunk in the cooking at all. The flavour was fantastic. I'll be back for another of these soon.”
