Suitable for all wood types with good adhesion and resistance, it has a quick drying formula that means your surface is touch dry within 90 minutes. What is Protek Royal Exterior Finish? A high grade water-repelling timber treatment, Protek Royal Exterior is a preferred choice for customers across the country. With a choice of 56 colours, the hard-wearing mix contains a mould inhibitor to protect the coating, and is low in odour and low VOCs. It is perfect for both softwood and hardwood products, on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. Protek Royal Exterior complies to EN71 parts 2 and 3, which relates to safety assurances over children and flammability. This unique formulation is water-based acrylic and alkyd hybrid that incorporates a polyuerethane dispersion based on linseed oil - a renewable resource. “Does the job perfectly. Easy application. Quick drying between coats . Two coats applied and already seems robustly waterproof. Very slightly darkened the wood (fractional) so not 100% clear. Made it look nice regardless! Product goes a long way even when it's slapped on!”

“It was a product recommended by my shed supplier. I have applied three coats and will hope it does the job of protecting the shed for up to five years.”

“Only recently applied, but so far it looks as if the finish will prevent water ingress quite well. It dries with a slightly glossy effect that increases with more coats. This may not suite all applications.”

“I have not been able to use this product yet - specifies not to use below 8 degrees Celsius. I have used this product previously however and was very pleased with the result, which is why I searched the internet to locate a supplier. Other products, including well-known brands, are less expensive but only seem to be available in colours and not clear (colourless).”
