“Have several fruit cages mostly 16mm aluminium frame. Tried a few of these a couple of years ago and although easy to clip on (copes with both plastic mesh and netting) difficult to remove especially for elderly or arthritic hands. Invented a tool manufactured from a short length of redundant 16mm tube. Slightly squashed at one end with a 4mm slightly tapered slit. Also acts as convenient temporary storage for removed rings. Longevity and UV resistance will take some time to assess but none snapped yet.”
