This is a very powerful heater, but two aspects of the design are of great concern. 1. The instruction leaflet tells you to position the thermostat above the stove, in the heat-stream coming from the stove. This is absurd, and would be unnecessary if it were possible to turn the thermostat down further than the present minimum setting of '0'. Even if you do set it up like that, the heater fails to switch itself off, with my large glasshouse reaching 12 degrees C, while the dial on the heater was at 0, which is supposed merely to prevent freezing. 2. There is no way to turn the heater off, whether in the situation described above, or when mild weather is expected, except by turning off the gas supply. For obvious reasons, the gas tanks are located outside the glasshouse, and since I have two linked tanks (it used to be four before this problem emerged), I have to go outside the glasshouse, round to the back (it being a dome, and having only one entrance), and turn off 2 (or 4) cylinders. This is not always convenient. In relation to the first question below, I think the description in the advertising was less than complete.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify a couple of points regarding the heater’s design and operation. Regarding the thermostat probe, it is designed to sit within the heat flow so it can accurately regulate the main burner. If positioned away from this airflow, it will take longer to reach temperature, meaning the burner may run for longer than expected. The recommended placement shown in the setup guide ensures the heater responds as intended and maintains the target temperature range. In relation to shutting the unit down, LPG appliances are intentionally designed to be turned off at the cylinder or regulator rather than at the heater itself. This is a standard safety approach across the industry. Turning the gas off at the source prevents gas from remaining in the hose, which can otherwise lead to hose degradation, potential leaks if the hose becomes damaged, or injector blockages caused by liquified gas. We understand that accessing the cylinders may be less convenient depending on your setup, and we appreciate you highlighting your experience. Feedback like yours is valuable and helps us continue improving our guidance and product information. If you would like, we are happy to review your specific installation to ensure it is configured in the most practical way possible. Kind regards, Gardening Naturally
