Hi, I'm sorry to hear these aren't suitable. You are correct, these won't work with folded mesh, this is not their design. The design is meant to clip onto a single layer of mesh to peg down to ensure you don't have to fold mesh over and weigh down at the edges. You are of course welcome to return these for a full refund should they not be suitable. Kind regards

“An excellent product. I use them about a foot from the edge of the 30Gm fleece. they grip well without damaging the fleece and there's still room for a few stones around it to keep the bugs out.”
