Live in Belfast composting is quite slugish even with a warm compost bin , since using the bokashi system this has speeded 10 fold and the mamals that like to dig around in the compost don't anymore .So thats nice

I usually buy the cheapest bokashi available. And then worry how fast it loses its (weak) smell - does that mean the friendly bacteria are dead? Wondering if I can add sugar to keep the very weak product "going". I have previously added white sugar to bokashi, worried if the cold dark cupboard, and multiple bags the product is wrapped in are not good enough. I usually end up losing the last quarter of any bag, as the product is growing bad mould; so clearly dead. I bought this product for the first time recently and immediately became a convert. It has the lovely sweet smell of really good bokashi. Trust me, you will know the difference when you open a bag of this. The smell has not diminished in very hot weather and storing this product. Two days ago I emptied some old compost on my garden path, mixed some of this bokashi in, and put some white rubble sacks over it. Today I moved the sacks and omg! So Many woodlice! I have never seen this before with any other bokashi. I store the open bag inside and no, it does Not attract woodlice, insects etc, so don't worry! I just mean it obviously improved the quality of the soil. If I had placed it in the garden bed instead of on the path; I'm sure I would be saying omg! I've never seen so many worms! I've always put bokashi in my soil, as a cheaper version of soil improver and hormone rooting powder. I think this time I'm going to have the best, most impressive results! I don't know if this is the cheapest bokashi, but if you have to use more because the product is weak or it dies quickly, then there is no saving. This will be the only bokashi I buy from now on.

This is the most effective Bokashi bran I’ve used. The 3 kilo bag has lasted over a year and is excellent value. Very efficient service, just about to order another bag.
