“I've cut and shaped so many hazel rods over the years, and they seldom last more than a year. I just wanted an easy life this year when it came to keeping the sparrows off my Swiss chard. I did not buy the pointed extensions that would have helped me push the tubes into the ground. Instead I squashed one end flat in a vice and that works well.”
