“This slim bookcase is sturdy and looks very smart. The shelves are solid with good supporting brackets. One criticism is that the hidden areas - back of the unit and underneath - are not very well finished off and are quite rough in places. As these are hidden, this fortunately does not distract from the outward appearance. It's as if the manufacturer has thought "these areas won't be seen, so we won't do a proper job on them". In addition, the very top of the bookcase looks incomplete (see photo). This seems to be quite a common thing for manufacturers to do as I've seen others like this, but does make placing items on top of the bookcase awkward. Again, it's as if they've saved money on areas that aren't usually seen.”

“Sturdy, reasonably well made and finished except for the rather odd top (which you cannot see in the product photos); it is not a solid board but made of 4 pieces of frame with a gap in the middle - if you’re short then you won’t notice this when it’s in situ; if you’re tall or it’s in a hallway so visible from stairs, it looks unfinished and rather cheap. A rather unfortunate cost cutting design.”
