“We’ve had our Tern Quick Haul Long bikes for about five months now and we absolutely love them. They’re perfect for nursery runs with both kids and for exploring London in a whole new way. “Our school commute was too far for the kids to cycle, butt hey were getting too big to both fit on the back of my regular pedal bike. We toyed with either getting a car or a family suited cargo bike. We ended up wiht the Tern Quick Haul Long because its actually far quicker getting around london without the hassle of finding parking, residents permits, road tax, car insurance, congestion charge, ULEZ etc etc. When we bought it we thought we' only use it with a rider and our two kids (4 and 6), but actually now we are used to it, I can happily take my wife and two kids on the back (at least wiht the kids at current size). The electric motor is great and easy to use, but what has surprised me most is how easy it has been for both me and my wife to get around when the battery is flat and you just need to rely on good old fashioned granny cog (and avoiding the few hills of note in central london)! Maybe I would consider a similar bike, with similar range of gear performance but without the electic assist, but it would be a trade off between the cost saving and certianly getting everywhere sweatier and slower.
I think the tru test of whether it is 9/10 or 10/10 will come down to the resale value after a couple of years of use, because if value holds up the way it seems to be suggested, then it is a top choice. Very happy.”
