“This jar of collagen supplements arrived quickly and well packaged. Upon first opening there was an unpleasant fishy smell which did totally put me off. I decided to leave the lid off for a couple of days before trialling the capsules and am glad I did. The smell did go and when I tried the recommended 2 capsules, there was no smell or anything unpleasant about them at all. The capsules are in a clear gel capsule of manageable size, are very easy to swallow and cause no upset internally. I have previously tried a well known, very expensive brand of collagen supplements, and could occasionally get stomach cramps with them. It remains to be seen if they do improve the look of my skin, hair and nails but they certainly cannot do any harm.”

“This seems a good product despite being much lower in collagen content than my regular brand which delivers 3000mg per dose. This means I will use four capsules twice a day to keep up with the collagen I have been using which has had a great effect. But I have no problem taking 8 caps a day; and you won't need to as that is a high dosage and I am simply replicating what I am used to. The collagen itself--well I am surprised someone says it smells like fish because, surprise collagen is from seafood so yes of course it smells like fish! Bloomin' heck! : ) It's just like cod liver oil tastes of, well, cod liver...! If you leave the cap off in order to let the smell disperse as the other reviewer said, (do not do this) then your capsules will begin to deteriorate. Sulphurous, the predominant scent, is how it ought to smell. Once you start worrying about leaving caps off then you let moisture in: there is always more moisture content in the air than a capsule can tolerate. The fishy or sulphurous scent and taste sort of proves it is what it is claimed to be! I don't really understand that people buy fish derivatives and want it smelling of roses, ha. In that case the maker would have to add one hell of a lot of unnatural substances to mask the scent. Plus, it's not even strong and you can drink this stuff--there's barely any taste whatsoever.”

“I have been taking this collagen for weeks now. I started taking it for my hair, my skin and my nails as I will be the bridesmaid for my best friend next year and I wanted to look my absolute best for her! The first difference I noticed was actually unrelated to my original reasons for taking it. I suffered from lower back pain when sleeping, not sure it was caused by the old mattress or rapid weight gain, this normally came at mid night. Within 3 weeks of taking the collagen supplements I noticed that it was a lot less frequent and certainly not as sore. The second thing that I noticed since taking the supplements was my skin, hmmm well it seems more plumped and even. I use my finger to poke my cheek and forehead, they plump back faster than before. If you like to check that on yourself you need to do that before you take the collagen pills, then also do it maybe after a month. In fact, my friends who didn't know I was taking collagen were asking if I used new cream or went to do a facial as my face is glowing. I suffer from combination skin, the dry skin area it often feels tight towards the end of the day but particularly tight after a bath or shower, since taking these tablets I can say it helps over these few months. I have not noticed any changes to my nails yet but I noticed my hair has grown thicker. I am optimistic that I will see an improvement on my nails.”
