I bought this for a Baofeng radio to attach to my Gin harness but even after taking the padding out with a Stanley knife it still wouldn’t fit Also I have a Gin reversible harness and would like some replacement main karabiners for it as I’ve belted one of ‘em on a rock Cheers, Nick.

Hi Nik, Thanks for your product review of the Advance Radio Holder Top, posted a couple of months ago, and your following email (received 4th May 2022) and valuable customer feedback, which we've taken on board, thank you. I replied to your email the same day but, as far as I know, haven't received a reply, so I'm also replying here, mainly so others can benefit from the advice I gave in my email to you. As I wrote in my reply to your email, I am sorry that your Baofeng radio is too big for the Advance Radio Holder Top you ordered from us. I am also sorry to learn that you took the padding out with a Stanley knife, rather than contacting us first to ask our advice and what other options were available to you. Firstly, if ever you order something which turns out to not be compatible with some of your gear, you can return it (unused) as per our Returns and Exchanges policy: https://flybubble.com/returns-exchanges Secondly, as it states on the product page on our website, the Advance Radio Holder Top is only compatible with smaller radios. This info has been there since this product first came out in 2018. Text copied below. "Radios compatibility The Radio Holder Top is known to be compatible with small PMR 446 radios (no licence), with maximum body dimensions of 130 x 60 x 35 mm." For extra guidance, after testing the product ourselves and taking on board customer feedback, we also added some extra notes to the product page soon after this product first came out. Text from this is copied below. "Flybubble notes Harness compatibility: As well as Advance harnesses, the Radio Holder Top also fits onto the shoulder strap of the following other brand harnesses: Gin Genie Lite 2; Woody Valley GTO light. We expect it will also fit others, however we've not tried them all! Radio compatibility: The Radio Holder Top is best suited to smaller, more compact radios. It does not fit larger radios like the Alinco DJ-175, for example. The Alinco DJ-A10 fits the pouch tightly but only if you remove the belt clip. Alternative mounting: As an alternative mounting location, the Radio Holder Top can also be fitted over some karabiners for some harnesses. For example, we found that it can be mounted over the karabiners that come with the Advance AXESS 4, PROGRESS 3 and SUCCESS 4. We expect it will also fit others, however we've not tried them all!" Many pilots have purchased the Advance Radio Holder Top from us and been happy with them, so they must have compatible radios. As for which radio pocket might be suitable for your Baofeng radio and Gin reversible harness, since radios and harnesses vary so much, and we don't know them all, I'm not able to confirm for certain. However of the ones we offer I think the Gin Radio Case Mesh would be your best bet (on our website flybubble.com go to Accessories > Radio, Camera & Phone Holders). If your radio is too big for that (don't forget that you can return it, as per our Returns and Exchanges policy) then take a look at the Conterra radio chest harnesses, which have the largest carrying capacity. Sorry to hear you hit your main karabiners on a rock. I recommend you buy stainless steel ones for example the AustriAlpin POWERFLY Karabiner. Otherwise any of the larger karabiners that fit the webbing on your harness (on our website flybubble.com go to Connectors > Karabiners). Best wishes, Carlo Flybubble
