“went on ok with garden sprayer, went on quite heavy to absorb in, wasnt that water repelent so not sure how effective this will be long term”

The roof tile will dictate how much sealer you require, you should follow the process twice on very absorbent tiles. Allow the tiles time to dry, and importantly the product will need to fully cure (over 24 hours). Once this process is complete you should then test (by a water drop test) to ensure the surface is sealed. If this process is followed you will find your tiles will encourage water droplets to bead. You may not have added enough product (in x2 applications) to ensure the tiles were sealed or carried out a water drop test too soon. You can still add more sealer if required.

“I have an old (1950's) roof that has concrete tiles. Once the moss was removed and a retardant applied, I sealed the tiles with the Roof Sealer. The tile area is just over 100 sq meters. Using hand sprayers it took two people about 1 day to apply two coats. The Sealer has dried to a transparent colour so the tiles retain their original shade. Even with the heavy rain we've had since then, the loft space does feel drier so it seems the tiles are not getting saturated. I would use this product again, although I expect it to be some years in the future. I might just give it a preventative coat in 5-7 years time.”
