“Sprayed it in to the drive as when used a roller previously it just stuck to the sand and dragged it up. Finish was good and it appeared to solidify the sand between the joints of the monobloc. However after a period of good weather, the first few bouts of heavy rain started to break the sand down and it just crumbled and became loose. Would use the product again as a good price and treated the blocs as expected, however in future I would apply it first and then then the joints with setting sand to ensure it is more robust and weatherproof.”

If you have re-sanded the sand contained within the joints needs to have time to slump and naturally compact. This can also be achieved by using a whacker plate. It will also occur over a few weeks particularly after rainfall. Once the sand has slumped you can spray the product over but you must ensure the joint is saturated as will need to absorb a significant of sealer to solidify it. If a sprayer has been used to apply (and the sand has been allowed to slump) a roller can then be used to lightly spread the sealer over the surface. This will prevent pooling or puddling on the blocks. As the sand will already have slumped you should therefore not pick up sand particles in/on the roller. If you do not allow the sand to slump it can break up/crack even after sealer has been applied. Failure to flood the joint would have the same suboptimal effect.

“Now bought 40L of Eco seal for myself and neighbours mono block. 2 coats for each so hoping fully sealed. Looking good though with such fast delivery time.”

“Block paving sealent does what it says it will, quick delivery and easy to apply. Just one recommendation don't buy there sprayer unless you are only doing one or two jobs. As when you are using frequently even when you thoroughly flush with clean water they stop working.”
