Field & Flower Pork Pie (180g) Reviews

2.7 Rating 7 Reviews
Read Field & Flower Reviews

Packed with flavour from our free-range pork and surrounded by hot water crust pastry, our pork pies are a gorgeous accompaniment to cheeses, biscuits and chutneys. They're at home on a summer picnic rug and on a winter cheese board, so should be enjoyed year-round.The secret to our exceptional pork lies in the meticulous care taken on farm. Sourced from passionate free-range pig farmers in England, our pigs are slowly reared on a natural diet. They are truly free-range meaning they are born and reared in fields all year round with space to roam and straw bedded huts for shelter. This care contributes to pork with incredible depth of flavour and a distinct meaty texture and goes a long way in supporting our British free-range pork industry.

I write this with regret, but I can't give more than 1 star when the two pies I received were inedible and were thrown away. I served these well within their use by date. The crusts were rock solid - really, chisel worthy. I like a bit of a crunch, so I tried to chew a bit. The flavour of the crust was bland and very greasy. The filling inside was dried up, grey and wholly unappetising. The two pies I purchased went in the bin. I was shocked as previous vegetarian/ vegan pies from F&F were delicious, and I have previously purchased a large pork pie, which was delicious. I will avoid these individual ones.

ours was off putting pale, pastry was nearly raw, and filling not nice; sorry guys, last year's was so lovely! The foxes finished it. Regards, Gina

Not too sure about this one. I have been a F&F customer for years and decided to give the pork pie a try for Christmas as it is one of the OH favourites. The filling had an amazing taste which worked well with the pastry and jelly. But the pastry let the whole thing down because of its texture. It was soggy, not crispy at all. Not one I would go for again. Shame.

These are nice but rather small for the cost. I do wish they would bring back the large pork pies as they were amazing and much better value.

I feel a tad expensive but much, much better quality than my local supermarkets and butchers - main thing was none of that ghastly jelly filler between the meat and the pastry. Also a very nice flavour and texture of the meat.
