Bursting with flavour and extremely soft and tender, our grass-fed calves liver really is 'melt in the mouth' delicious. It has a fairly strong flavour (the longer you cook it the stronger the taste becomes) so is fantastic to add to stews and casseroles, as well as enjoying on its own pan-fried with some creamy mash and spinach. Sourced from a handful of farms in Somerset, our West Country beef is grass-fed, free-range and high-welfare, meeting our own exacting welfare standards. The meat contains high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids and is loaded with vitamins and minerals due to the grass-fed diet. Hand-butchered in Somerset using traditional techniques, our grass-fed British beef is the best that you can get.

In order to take the bitterness out of liver, I soak the liver in the fridge overnight in milk, but this calves liver hardly needs that treatment as it always tastes just right (though I still sometimes do it, out of force of habit!) I think Field & Flower Calves Liver, Beef Shin and Chorizo Burgers are just tops in terms of taste. I can't wait for the box to arrive to pop some Calves Liver in the pan again, with a bit of bacon and fried tomato. Perfect!
