“My usually unimaginative hubby bought me these earrings for our 24th anniversary last summer. I was so shocked and they meant so much to me after he nearly died from Covid! In less than a month though, they had gone a clear colour. I took them back into store and they said it was because Id wore them in the shower and after I explained There wasnt an info leaflet with them, I was told It was the customers responsibility to know not to wear them in the shower. After explaining that had someone told me that, I wouldnt have, but surely people forget anyway, it was reiterated it was basically my fault. I was too upset to argue so left. I stopped wearing them for a while but recently I found them and they had turned yellow with no sparkle. I didnt want them to go to waste so wore them more from a sentimental viewpoint even though they annoy me. So at Christmas my MIL said she loved my amber earrings. Im so disappointed, upset and angry about it and the staffs attitude. Thinking about it now, its a shops responsibility to make the consumer aware, not for the consumer to have to investigate. Not great service!”
