“Slightly disappointed, absolutely no pockets, or zip compartment inside the bag. The front of the bag has 2 pockets but the main front flap covers both pockets ,& is closed by 2 buckled straps, this is very inconvenient and annoying when my purse is kept inside the left pocket.”

“I have used this type of shoulder bag for many years, but never with a wax treated waterproof fabric. Canvas and leather bags are smart but do not fare well in wet conditions. The Tarras bag pairs well with my Barbour wax jacket, even in dry conditions. The bag is strongly constructed, with quality fittings, which is typical of Barbour products. The tartan lining of the bag matches my Barbour wax jacket. Being of similar materials, neither will be stained in contact with each other, unlike using a light tan canvas bag with a wax jacket. I like the combination of waxed leather and cotton materials. The buckle straps were a concern, but in practice they are easy to use for opening and closing the bag. The Tarras size is practical as it takes an A4+ document folder, and sufficient additional capacity for other items. A portable computer or tablet is easily carried in the bag. On occasions, I will use the bag for a camera and accessories when on photo walks. It is idea for that purpose as it does not attract attention. The two front pockets are usefully deep and close with pop fasteners. They do have drain holes in them, so in wet weather I will place items in a poly bag. This is normal practice for protecting items in any outdoor bag against wet weather. The shoulder strap is constructed of strong canvas material and generously wide so should remain comfortable if the bag is heavy. Yes, I am pleased with the purchase. Farrar-Tanner sweetened the price with a first order discount. Delivery took four days, not quick but acceptable. The item was packed in a cardboard carton and the bag was in a poly bag. I will use this supplier again.”

“Bought as a gift and looks as smart in real life as advertised. Paid for engraving which was a nice addition, arrived quickly without hiccups. Sturdy material, seems like will age well. Buckles mean not quick to open, but good for security when out and about. Thick strap good for comfort. Very happy overall.”
