“I ordered pens and paid for them to be engraved. What arrived cannot in my opinion be called 'engraved pens': 'to engrave' is defined as "to cut or carve (a text or design) on the surface of a hard object" These pens had no such engraving, merely some ugly black text printed on the surface of the otherwise attractive pen. Now I understand why there were no photos of example engraving on the site. A big disappointment, that spoilt what were meant to be treasured mementos, so beware when ordering engraving”

Good morning Christopher, Thank you for your order with us & for your review. We are very sorry that you are not happy with your order. We always strive to ensure that every one of our customers is completely satisfied with their items, so we apologise again for any inconvenience this may have caused. We use a laser engraver to engrave all of our stainless steel Parker Jotter pens which uses a process called 'annealing'. This process removes the carbon from the stainless steel surface to create a black engraving mark. The laser engraving is not just printed onto the surface, otherwise it would just wear off with the moisture from your hand. The laser engraving is a permanent mark as it is in the surface of the material. This process is different to etching, where we drag a diamond tip over the surface to create a mark with no colour. Unfortunately these pens are made from stainless steel, so the drag engraving method does not work very well, as it is barely visible due to the steel being too hard. “A lovely pen, beautifully engraved and gift wrapped. The pen was smaller and lighter than I was expecting but my sister was delighted with it. TBH being smaller and lighter makes it a nicer pen to write with. Very happy, highly recommended.”

“Ordered this as a present for a friend who is a newly qualified primary teacher so was particularly keen on it being engraved. The pen arrived in 3 days, beautifully packaged and also with a little bag of sweets! I was particularly impressed with the engraving which is lovely and clear. I’m sure she will love it.
