“Bought these for adding strength to outriggers for my last kayak and had a nightmare fitting them although it should be straight forward, thought I had bought a couple of faulty plates (nuts and bolts) and that I was just unlucky with that purchase, when I changed my kayak I bought another set for the outriggers and had exactly the same problem, which is that the bolts do not go through the plastic on the nut, I broke a screwdriver head trying to remove the bolts after they got stuck half way as they would not go through, ended up hack sawing them off and had to go to a chandler to get new nuts and bolts that were compatible. In short the nuts and bolts are incompatible, the plates are good quality though and if you really want the plates, just use marine grade steel nuts and bolts from a chandler to save yourself the hassle I had. Shouldn't have to though!”
