“I have just started kayaking and wearing the correct protective gear especially for this time of year (December) is essential. I made a good choice buying the Yak Galaxy jacket and matching Yak Chinook trousers. They overlap each over with 2 hems so they kept me warm and dry. After the morning paddle I changed into some jogging bottoms and drove home which I thought was a bonus. No crowded wet changing room!”

“This Yak Galaxy is FAR superior to the previous (also Yak) Sladek. It was reduced from £155 to £69, seems tougher and more rugged, and has a skirt system to integrate more effectively with a spray deck, so we are not inclined to make a fuss about the fact that it's waterproofing isn't 100%. Neck and cuffs DO allow some water in (our son is using this for Whitewater and freestyle). Apparently, according to an instructor, for really effective waterproofing, you need latex seals, not neoprene. Service was fine and it arrived quickly.”

“The Cag is of good quality materials and finished off well in construction. The seals work well once I had put some silicone spray on the rubber, until I did that it was difficult to get out of. The jacket is a little tight to get off in general, but that means less material to flap around and get damaged, a good compromise. The jacket is good, watertight and keeps the wind off. Superb bit of kit. I would buy another one, perhaps a size larger.”
