“There is a known issue on Werner paddles with the locking button on the connector jamming - various threads discuss it. It happened on mine after only a handful of uses, and I was unable to use the paddle on the trip I was on. Luckily I have a spare, but that is simply not acceptable for a paddle at this price point and is not fit for purpose. It is usually not possible to rectify this at the time - no amount of prodding or splashing in water would free it. The "official" solution given to me by the supplier is that it needs soaking in water for 3-4 days. Additionally, the shaft of my sample was noticeably deformed on one side.”
