Finally a light vesion of a rescue sling. This works almost exactly the same as most rescue slings but is tiny and very light. The sling is very narrow (as you would want and expect for this type of material) and that smaller width may impact certain uses of the sling in rescue situations (such as in part of a "Pig Rig"). This material also performs differently being much more slippy (so tying knots in it will perform differently, as would use in mechanical advantage systems) and less able to hold under shock load, compared to Nylon which is a more traditional material to used in other slings. but I am not sure that any of this is a negative or even a positive. This is the same debte any climber would have about using the different materials. One must understand the material limitations as well as the benefits when selecting this rescue tool, above others. Personally I think it well worth the investmant and have it as part of my standard white water kit now, but know there will be a learning curve in its safe use. I would happily recomend this item for somone who understands all the above, but if not ...perhaps go with a simpler (and cheaper) option, like the Palm rescue snake sling or the one from Whetman Equipment (a personal favorite), which are both very good options. -- Hope this is of help.
