“I have not owned a kayak before so the prospect of buying a large 13.5' sea kayak weighing 35kg and transporting it 90 miles was a little daunting. I looked at the Thule Dockglide but 35kg is right at the top of the allowed load capacity and also I could not find a set of Thule roofbars that would fit my car. The Malone kayak carrier is rated for heavier loads than most others on the market and can fit a wide variety of roof bars. Additionally the design suits a single person being able to slide a kayak onto the carrier from the rear of the car. On the day the Malone worked perfectly so I would recommend it to anyone else with a heavy kayak and needing to load it by themselves.”
