“It fits perfectly on my Tarpon 120 kayak, that has been fully kitted out for fishing. I can paddle out and within seconds have my rod sitting in the cradle. On the way back in I can just click out my Scotty rod holder knowing that no damage can be caused if I have a mishap in the surf.”

“Scotty products are good quality and a thoughtful design. I’ve used my two gear heads to locate rod holders on my Tarpon several times now, very simple to use. Pleased with the purchase.”

“Here’s the thing, you can buy cheaper rod holders, and I have, some (either the plastic or the metal ones) some of which now unfortunately lie at the bottom of the ocean because the design is faulty and they pulled out when I (or others) pulled the rod out. All were used when fishing from a kayak and were always mounted to a fixed spot. This fixed placement impacts on paddling, Fishing, baiting etc, lots of little things and this is where the scotty mount really stands out. When you mount the scotty gear head track adapter on the track the versatility is so much better. It allows you to move your rod holder to various places. Excellent and hopefully I can avoid dumping more plastic albeit accidentally, into the ocean.”
